Children's Book about Birds and other Animals.
The children's story book that I wrote about a little robin redbreast, and his friends, is published!
Feathers and Fluff is a beautiful story about friendship, determination and kindness, which is told in rhyme from beginning to end and continues across six books in the Robin RoseHip : A Bird's Tale book series by Claire Murthy. Feathers and Fluff is the first book.
This original rhyming tale can be enjoyed through the early reading years and beyond. It's an engaging read-aloud story, suitable for bedtime, classroom or as a cosy read for a more advanced reader who loves wildlife, animals and nature.
This first edition uses text and layout to create atmosphere and engage the reader through words as well as rich rhyming rhythms and patterns, which help make the text and phrases memorable and fun.
Filled with a joyful spirit and brimming with imaginative moments, this children's wildlife story is about an outgoing, friendly garden bird; the popular robin redbreast - Britain’s national and most loved garden bird.
Coming soon...
The next book in the series will be published in June 2022.
I will add another post soon with a few more details including a couple of verses from Feathers and Fluff and a link to purchase it, for anyone who would love to read unique wildlife stories in rhyme.
In the meantime, here's the original watercolour sketch that I edited and used for the book cover.

Watercolour sketch of Robin RoseHip |
The original painting was sold a couple of years ago but I couldn't resist using this on the book covers. When I illustrate the second edition Robin RoseHip books the illustrations will be based on this painting but slightly different in style. I will try and update the Art Blog here with a few posts showing progress and approaches to illustrating the stories, either later this year or next year.
